Character Design
For my third year FMP, I created OC’s for each Chinese Zodiac year. For this project, I based each character on their Chinese zodiacs traits, lucky colours, lucky directions and numbers, and their common careers. Each character is designed based off of these factors and it helps to bring them to life.
To show an example of how I’ve developed my Tigers design based of research on the zodiac year I’ll dive into what makes him him.
As the third sign in the Chinese zodiac the tigers traits are known to be Strength, Charm, Competitiveness, Boldness, Confidence and Irritableness. I tried to show this in his design by giving him an aesthetic body and good looks. The piercings help to convey the confident and bold aspects of his personality, there are also 3 facial piercings which is a lucky number for the Tiger sign.
Also consistently using his lucky colours Blue, Grey and Orange throughout his design was a vital part of his design. He is tattooed with 3 tiger stripes to help views to connect the dots between which zodiac he is meant to be. A smaller detail is the guitar pick on his hip which is a hint to one of his common careers which is a musician.
Tora Aoki is from japan which is located in the east of Asia which is a lucky direction for his zodiac. His name is also Japanese for tiger (Tora).
My Idea for him was to make him work in a record store and give him ambitions to be a musician in the future.
1998 is one of the years of the Tiger so I thought making this his birthyear would make the most sense. Since he is the third sign I thought making his birth month march (the third month) would be best, this is also the same for the rest of the characters.

As Valorant is one of my favorite games I decided to make my on character design for a new agent for the game. Hex was the result, with earth magic based ablilities her aesthetic is inspired by New Orleans black magic.
If you havent heard of valorant before click below to get an idea of what im talking about.
During a recent project I was experimenting with making a snow leopord, character to help to tell the story of how climate change if affecting many animals. here are some of the results.
For the same project I sketched some polar bears to generate some ideas for the brief.
For the Climate change brief, I created a set of two Polaroids to show the effects of global warming on polar bears. In the first image, you can see lush mountains covered with snow with a polar bear family thriving in their natural habitat.
In the second image, it is clear how global warming has affected their habitat and the polar bears themselves. Only one is visible and very thin looking, this is to show how polar bears struggle to find food now the ice caps are melting as their food sources have relocated.
